Ah yes, I'm back again with another burger joint! This time in grand ol' Joliet, at hamburgerseria, whose name I honestly have no clue how to pronounce. I can only assume it is a mash-up between "hamburger" and the suffix "seria", as in "pizzeria?" Enough with the introduction, let's get to the food already.

To start off I got an appetizer of pickle "fries". I emphasize fries because I've only ever had fried pickle chips or spears, and if you know the anatomy of a pickle, the core is very soft and hard to hold together... so how is this gonna work? Somehow it did and the pickles were firm and juicy. The only thing I did not like was how greasy the fries were. The pickles were light and refreshing, but the fried batter was too heavy, making it impossible to eat an entire basket. Additionally, the "chipotle ranch" dip tasted NOTHING like chipotle or ranch, so I'm really not sure what I was eating. If that wasn't weird enough, just wait for the burger.

I'm a regular at this place so it's hard to find something on the menu I haven't already tried. If you're looking for good recommendations on what to try, I will include a brief list at the bottom. For anyone that knows me, I am not a breakfast person, and I particularly do not like eggs. So naturally, I had to get the breakfast burger with which is topped with none other than a hard fried egg. Oh boy, what did I just get myself into?

To spice things up a bit I added some of their house chipotle sauce on the burger, to add a little extra flavor and hopefully drown out the flavor of the egg. Upon first bite, it wasn't as bad as I expected, a little weird in texture because of the egg but overall still a good burger because of the cheese and bacon. About midway through I decided to stop denying my distaste for eggs, removing the rubbery garbage from my burger and continuing as planned. And oh what the difference it made, it was actually a great burger!

To end the night I stopped a local Joliet favorite for a sweet treat. Behold Walt's Ice Cream. If you live anywhere within a ten-mile radius of Joliet, you've either been to Walt's or at least heard of it-- and with good reason. They're known for their famous "rainbow cone" but I stuck with my go-to order: a baby vanilla cone with a cake batter dip. Once you get past the fact that the flavored dip is basically just liquid fat and sugar, then it's great!

Now time the aforementioned list of my favorite menu items!

1) Buffalo Tots

2) Colorado Burger

3) Loaded Chips

4) Chicken Parmesan Sandwich (just a heads up, this sandwich is about the size of your face but is definitely worth it. If you want to spice it up, swap out marinara for buffalo or chiptole sauce and it's even better)

5) California Salad (every salad comes with a bread stick and these breadsticks put Olive Garden's to shame, so if anything, do it for the breadstick!!)

Although I didn't necessarily enjoy my meal this time, I am forever a huge fan of this place and will always support them. If you liked this review and are looking to to try it for yourself, they're located at 1015 Essington Rd, Joliet, IL 60435. Stay tuned next week for my favorite food, grilled cheese!!!
